Fiction eBook Review – One Good Knight by Mercedes Lackey

Posted by Trevas On January - 6 - 2009

I have long been a fan of Mercerdes Lackey. As many of you already know, Fantasy is one of my main reading genres, and throughout my reading career, my library (or in this case eLibrary) has never been lacking in the latest from Mercedes Lackey. Today I am going to give you my thoughts on one of her more recent works. The book is One Good Knight.

This particular book reminds me of why I loved this author’s books right through my teens and into my adult years. One Good Night is set in the world of the 500 Kingdoms. It includes many elements that you would expect from a fantasy novel, swords, a monarchy, magic, and more but it is actually quite a fantastical world. There are dragons, creatures from Greek mythology, and even faeries. Mercedes Lackey brings all of those elements together to create a world where you really can lose yourself to your imagination. I read a lot of fantasy novels, and I don’t know any other author that could pull together all these elements with such realism (I’m obviously using the term loosely here) to create such an enjoyable book.

I am giving One Good Night my seal of approval, and recommending it to anyone who enjoys this genre. As a final note: This particular book is actually the second in a series of three. I haven’t read the other two, and I wasn’t lost to the storyline at all. If you do want to purchase the 1st and 3rd in the Tales of the 500 Kingdoms series, they are available from the same stores using the links below.
