This Week’s free eBook – The Freelance Package

Posted by Review-Clarice On November - 28 - 2008

Since we have already posted this, you may have already heard: This week we are offering a very special eBook for free. Trevas has decided to make his eBook package at TodaysFreelancer.com freely available to anyone.

The Freelance Course - Free

The Package includes:

    • The eBook: Today’s Freelancer – The Writer’s Guide to a Six-Figure Income
    • The Course: Article Writing – An ELearning Initiative
    • The Success Blueprint: An easy to follow daily steps-to-success blueprint

If you read my post the other day, I’m still in disbelief that Trevas decided to do this. But, since he has, let’s talk about the eBook.

Today’s Freelancer is an eBook that teaches success in the online freelance markets. The book is targeted at writers. But, since he’s giving it away, it will also be useful for anyone interested in freelance web design, programming, etc.

The book covers the top five freelance sites from around the web, and then teaches you how to get started on those sites. Throughout the rest of the book Trevas focuses on building a profile that will land you the job every time, and also on building an income that will allow you personal freedom in your own life.

Since he is giving the book away, I suggest you download the freelance course yourself. This is one book that I would have highly recommended even if he was still charging the $47 that the package was going to be sold at!

EBook Publishers from Around the Web – Week 2

Posted by Amanda On November - 28 - 2008

Last week, I gave you five great eBook publishers from around the web. As promised, this week I am sharing five more. This time I am focusing on publishers of fiction eBooks. This list is a little varied; in that, some of these publishers have very stringent requirements for publishing your eBook while others will publish almost anything.

1. Fantasy Romances (Link is to their main page click submissions to get published) – Fantasy romances is a site that specializes in Romance fiction. They pay royalties on all sales made through the site.

2. Fiction Wise – One of the largest fiction bookstores on the web, Fiction Wise also allows for publishing of eBooks. In this case you must be a previously published author, and they generally only accept re-prints of your past work.

3. eLibrary – eLibrary.net is a site that allows you to submit your eBooks and keep 100% of the money earned from those books. In this case they aren’t actually publishing them, but it does provide an excellent tool to help you get your work noticed (and sold from your own site).

4. Renaissance eBooks – Publishes all genres, currently looking for fiction works. The link is to the authors guidelines.

5. Lion-Hearted Publishing – Another eBook published specializing in Romance, Lion Hearted is another great place to get your fiction published.

The list of fiction publishers is actually quite extensive. Be sure to check back next week when I share five more. Better yet, subscribe by email (top-right corner of this site) and get the list in your inbox next week.

Site Review – iChapters – The Greener Way to Learn

Posted by Review-Clarice On November - 28 - 2008

In this review, I’m not actually reviewing an eBook. Rather I am sharing a site that we think is going to lead the way into the future for the way people purchase learning materials.

iChapters is a site that sells textbooks in eBook format. This allows for a few benefits.

  • eBooks don’t waste paper
  • The digital versions of textbooks save students as much as 50% over traditional texts
  • You don’t have to carry heavy texts with you to class (all your books can be on your laptop).

Currently iChapters sells their books to the US, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. They have plans to expand to other countries, and we expect that this is one site that will lead the way into the future.

Todays Freelancer – For Free – WOW

Posted by Review-Clarice On November - 27 - 2008

Hello everyone, for this weeks free ebook, we have something very special. Trevas Walker has decided to make his eBook available for free. Considering that this eBook package could have been marketed well at the price he had originally planned, all I have to say is wow!

Here is the email I received from Trevas this morning:

Hello Clarice,

Can you take a moment to post this to the eBookGuru site. Also if you and Don wouldn’t mind posting it to your personal blogs, that would be great.

I have decided to make the TodaysFreelancer.com writing package freely available. I had originally intended to market this eBook, and the book was doing quite well after launch. After much thought though, I changed my mind.

Freelancing has brought me much success in my own life. It has enabled me to work from home, to spend more time with my loved ones, and in reality it has helped me to build a happier life. I want to share that success with others, and that is the reason I originally wrote this particular eBook.

When I thought about it, the more I charge for this eBook, the fewer the number of people who will be able to realize their own dreams because of it. So, I have decided to give the eBook away. The book was originally written with writer’s in mind (or would-be writers) but it will also be useful to anyone getting started in freelance in other areas as well.

If you could please post this and make this the free eBook for the week, that would be great.

Regards,

Trevas Walker

I have worked with Trevas before on a couple of eBook marketing projects, and all I have to say is WOW! He has basically just given up more $10,000 in profit over the next year (his last eBook sold 400 copies in less than one year), and just to help others.

If you’ve been looking to get started working from home, you definetely won’t want to miss this one!

Get your copy of Trevas’s latest book at http://www.todaysfreelancer.com

As an added note: If you download this book, and enjoy it, please feel free to recommend it to others on your own blog. You can also help by using the links below to share this post (add to facebook, digg it, etc).

Why PDF is the Best Solution for EBooks

Posted by DonShey On November - 19 - 2008

Throughout my career in eBook writing and marketing, one question I am often asked is what format should an eBook be published in. The answer to this question can be quite complicated, but the short answer is also quite clear.

For most purposes the best format for an eBook is portable document format, more commonly known as PDF. The reasons for this are quite simple. When you are selling an eBook online you want to ensure that you reach the largest possible market.

Proprietary eBook solutions usually limit you in who you can sell to. There are software solutions for Windows users, solutions for Mac, and then there are formats such as MOBI or Kindle. The problem with all of the solutions I just listed is that one type of eBook only reaches one type of customer. In other words you limit your own market by using them.

PDF files, on the other hand, can be viewed on a Windows PC, on a Mac, on a Linux computer, and even on most cell phones and PDA’s. It provides one file type that is portable across all platforms, thus extending your market reach.

So the short answer to the original question is simply: market your eBooks as PDF files and you’ll find you have a larger reach. The exception to this rule would be if you planned to sell the book through stores like Amazon Kindle (in which case you would obviously want to provide a Kindle format).

Save the Marriage eBook Review

Posted by Review-Clarice On November - 19 - 2008

When it comes to marriage we all know that they have their ups and downs. For many of us it’s those highs and lows that keep life interesting. For others though, it is the single factor that leads to crisis, and many times divorce. With divorce rates hovering above 50% there is a real need for someone to help those who are in a marriage crisis.

Dr. Lee H. Baucom attempts to do just that with his new eBook Save the Marriage. Since he is a consultant for NBC’s dateline, and has been featured in many national magazines, we expected this book to wow us. It did that and more!

Save the Marriage takes a real look at the sanctity of marriage, and goes on to teach you how to see problems for what they are. The book covers how to identify the eight stages of crisis in a marriage and then teaches you how to step back and deal with the situation from there.

Since Dr. Baucom is a marriage counsellor we expected the book to cover the idea of recovering from crisis. In this one though, he went further than that. The eBook also covers many ideas related to communication, intimacy, how to avoid problems in the first place, and more.

When taken as a whole this book is more than just another self-help book for couples. It is a recipe for success in any marriage!

The book also comes with some bonus materials, which we weren’t supplied with for this review, but if the book is a testament to the quality of the whole package then you can expect even more great marraige building tools. To Learn more, and Read the Book For Yourself, Click Here!

EBook Publishers from Around the Web – Week 1

Posted by Amanda On November - 19 - 2008

When it comes to getting published traditional publishers can be difficult to deal with. Really, if you’ve never had your work in print before then getting that book published is about as likely as getting struck by lightning (it’s not quite that bad, but it’s close). To help new authors out, we will be running a series that covers eBook publishers from around the web.

We will give you five links per week that may just help you get your work published. Some of the publishers we list offer both print and digital formats, while others offer only digital marketing of your work. With all of them though the chances of getting published are far greater than trying to find an agent and get your work to print in the more traditional manner.

Foremost Press – Publishes most genres of fiction and non-fiction in both print and digital formats.

Book Locker – Publishes many different types of non-fiction works and allows for print and eBook formats.

Boson Publishers – Publishes eBooks in many different formats. Distribute their books in different formats to big name sites.

Concious Kernels – Publishers of eBooks related to Spirituality. Ebooks are sold through their online store.

Double Dragon Publishing – Publishers of eBooks of any genre/topic. They have big name distribution methods to get your work noticed.

Be sure to check back next week when we give you five more eBook publishers from around the web! You can subscribe to our site by email, by simply entering your email address in the header-bar of this site.

Kindle Profits Exposed Review – Make Money with EBooks

Posted by Review-Clarice On November - 18 - 2008

READ THIS FIRSTClarice Reviewed this book way back in November. At that time the book was being sold as “an ebook by Rebecca Cooper” and the sales page stated the same. Today that page has changed and lists some other name. Since we have no way of knowing whether this is just a bad marketing idea, or whether it actually is a different book available now – we are no longer recommending this one! You can still use the links below to get to the site, but if you choose to buy it you do so at your own risk!

Update January 19: It has been confirmed for me that the product is still the same, so we are leaving this review as is, and we can still recommend the book to anyone who wants to make money with Kindle. Cheers, Trevas Walker

When it comes to making money with eBooks, there are many routes that Internet Marketers take. You’ll often hear us talking about information marketing on this site; after all it is big business. With today’s review though we’re going to look at a course that teaches you to make money with eBooks using a less common method.

If you’ve been around the world of eBooks for any amount of time then you likely already know what a Kindle is. It’s the handy little device that was created as Amazon made their way into the world of eBooks. It allows you to read download, and in some cases share, eBooks.

In today’s review we are looking at an e-learning course created by Rebecca Cooper. This course teaches you how to make money with Kindle books. The course includes a video portion, an eBook, and an audio interview. If you’ve been looking for a method to make some extra cash with eBooks, without getting into the massive world of Internet Marketing then Rebecca’s course is likely for you.

Kindle Profits Exposed runs you through how to create content for the Kindle network. The books focus is on taking public domain material and marketing it, but the methods taught would work for any eBook, including that fiction book you wrote yourself. It teaches you many other important aspects of making money with Kindle:

  • How to properly categorize and list your book.
  • How to price your book for maximum response.
  • Which products sell well and which don’t.
  • How to get repeat customers.
  • How to gain exposure for your books.

The reality is that traditional Internet Marketing is hard, and with this new realm to get your eBooks online it provides a much easier way to get started. For anyone looking to make a little extra cash by publishing eBooks, Rebecca Cooper’s Kindle Profits Exposed is highly recommended.
